This project was aimed to breathe new life into the brand, as well as solve a number of pressing issues. The old site was outdated and didn’t support mobile use, which is essential to reach and engage today’s connected kids. They couldn’t dive into their articles, activities, or play games on-the-go.
Working hand-in-hand with the editorial team from the National Wildlife Federation, I assisted to re-envision the site experience. Attention was focused on how best to include diverse offerings from their three magazines, which cater to toddlers to 12-year-olds.
Streamlined interface and site navigation, plus a colorful and kid-centric aesthetic deliver a user-friendly experience to better engage kids of all ages.
In less than a month after launch, daily traffic doubled thanks to increased search engine visibility and the vastly improved usability of the site.
While the project was initially intended to implement a new brand developed by CEW’s ad agency, it quickly became clear that significant UI/UX and design work was needed to ensure the new site would deliver appropriate mobile responsive delivery.
Working from CEW’s brand aesthetic, I played a major role in developing new wireframes and designs to align with modern web and CMS delivery, and then provided all template coding, compression and optimization of files for maximum accessibility, creation of stylesheets for insertion into the upgraded WordPress CMS, including all responsive views and styles.
To successfully launch the site, extensive content migration as well as plug-in setup, and integration with CEW’s netFORUM AMS and existing 3rd party tools were also delivered.

Acelero Learning is a fantastic program that comes with a similar pain point for both applicants and staff members. The amount of paperwork needed is daunting and keeping track of the final forms is no easy task. The goal was to create a new system that would be helpful and assist users through the application and enrollment process.
After working directly with applicants and Acelero staff, a prototype was developed to streamline the process. With this new application all required forms would be in one place, accessible to both applicants and staff. With making the switch to a digital application users have the ability to complete the forms at home, or in person with a trained staff member. Additionally, this new tool gives applicants and staff members the ability to set up milestone meetings to ensure communication stays open and the overall process is completed in a timely manner.
While at Bean Creative I played a role in assisting the Telecommunications Industry Association complete a comprehensive digital marketing overhaul across numerous website and online initiatives.
During the course of the project an engaging, responsive, user-centric online presence was developed to meet their members’ growing needs and align with an organization-wide communications strategy.
In addition, a multisite environment was developed. This allowed TIA to consolidate a large number of stand-alone sites that had been neglected and weren’t part of their cohesive brand offering.

Like many older association sites, the Entomological Society of America not only lacked responsive, cross-platform support, but had a diminished user-experience due to disjointed navigation and content strategy.
The purpose of this web redesign was to bring their current content to life by improving the existing navigation and adding a lively color palette all while keeping a professional feel. This was achieved by using sleek neutrals for the main colors and incorporating two bright accents to call attention to specific information.
Already, the new site has reduced some of ESA’s biggest pain points, including bounce rates, SSO member sign-in, and incomplete registrations.
